“Let me tell you this about Chemako: they are good friends, musicians glued to each other by music and mostly, they are made from the same imaginary material that makes their music. One inseparable little part of the soul that comes from their sensibility and from years of rehear- sals, concerts, craziness and drunkenness, happiness and sad days. All this, and so much more, for one and only reason: the love of the Blues. We can talk a lot about the abuse of this word these days, but for sure the Blues is a feeling, that once you have tried for the first time, will never let you go. Just like a subtle but comfortable drug that you can’t stop using so as to feel alive. There are no compromises, tricks or shortcuts: you must play it and sing it to understand that you exist, to feel good and to make people feel good, the ones who listen and that know or don’t know the meaning of things. Today there are many things that should be known, just because the ones who rule this weird world want to hide them, but sometimes it’s enough to listen to Red Diamond Train, Fallin’ Star, the beautiful cover of All Things Must Pass by George Harrison or the vocal intensity in Let It Burn Wild, to breathe again, to dust the dark attic of the feelings. I believe that this first album by Chemako may be useful also for these reasons. Sincere music, played by true people, that comes from the deep to arrive to all the ones who’ll listen to it to be happy, to dance, to think and also to find a way out.”
